Darkness

I miss my clarity during the day,
When the sky is clear and everything is just bright
It's the darkness, during the dawn and the dusk,
when the light peeps through the middle of the clouds,
     that's where I center, that's when I am home.

There is something about darkness, a particular innocence.

Insecure of its presence, it looks for validation.
Knowing very well that a tiny gleam can make it look small,
        It maximizes it's lifetime.

But it takes a soul to recognize the beauty of darkness,

And it's purpose in the tapestry of life.
Because we would be stoic without knowing what the absence of light is,
The absence of happiness is, the absence of a jolly time is.

It is in the absence of that which is not,

that we realize that which is.
